Top Three Electric Cars

Chevy_Volt.jpg
2. Chevy Volt
The Car is set for production in 2010, the Volt (0 to 60 in 8.5 seconds) will be a four-seat sedan that General Motors hopes to roll out for less than $30,000. It’ll run for 40 miles exclusively on battery power, and then a small 1-liter gasoline-powered motor kicks in to charge those batteries. The car can be pluged in to be charged. GM is now working with various battery technologies, abandoning the old-fashioned nickel-metal-hydride batteries of the past for the current favorite, a T-shaped assembly made with stacked wafers of manganese oxide. Inside will be i pod-like tech, including a touchscreen for your entertainment, navigation and control of the car’s charging.

3. Toyota Plug-in Hybrid
Toyota is planning a follow-up to its popular Prius — this one a plug-in hybrid whose name hasn’t been announced yet. The picture above is not the final design, but this concept, called the Toyota Hybrid-X, could be close to what we’ll see by the time the car takes to the road by 2010. Similar to those batteries in laptop computers using longer-lasting lithium-ion batteries , the car will probably be able to beat the current experimental plug-in Prius’s 62 miles traveled without any help from its on board gasoline engine.

4. Aptera Typ-1
It’s an Aptera Typ-1 Plug-in hybrid, packing battery power and a tiny diesel engine that together have a range of 600 miles. It is said by the company that the first version of its car will be delivered this year, and will be an all-electric car with a 120-mile range. For a $500 deposit, you can get your name on the list, too, but you’ll need to live in Southern California if you want to be a proud owner.

The Singapore Airlines Airbus A380

Singapore made great preparations to welcome the world's biggest plane airbus A380. After it's flight to Singapore and then Changi Airport, it made it's first commercial flight to Sydney on October 25. At an investment of $13 billion, this double-decker aircraft took more than seven years. The plane has been discovered as a highly fuel-efficient aircraft offering silent cabin in all large passenger jets. The entry of the jet is like a golden feather to the existing fleet of Singaporean airlines.
The front side of the plane is equipped with 12 first class luxury groups with each offering elite amenities including a proper bed, a 23-inch flat panel TV, working table, a lounge chair and epicurean food. Out of the 12, two suites are privileged with double bed facility. For the Business Class the upper deck accommodates 60 passengers on unique seats that can be molded into a horizontal bed. Around 399 seats are offered for economy class spread over both decks, assuring even the lowest ticket to the jet would be offered the comfort of leg room and knee room.
Singapore Airlines showed its interest in A380 when it was just a concept in September 2000. The placed order of 10 A380s was increased to 15 and then 19 in July 2006. For this value addition, the order of 19 jets including engines and sundry would cost $5.7 billion. Airbus is prepared to deliver the order of 13 planes to Singapore Airlines, Emirates Airlines and Qantas by 2008, 25 in 2009, and 45 in 2010.
