Photoshop Express:The Free Version

Adobe (NSDQ: ADBE) is taking a note from startups nipping at the edges of its core products, and has now launched a free version of its Photoshop picture editing software. Called Photoshop Express, the service is available directly through any browser though it will only work on Flash 9, so you may have to upgrade. Users have to register for the account, and get 2GB of free storage. Also, it also has ties to social networking sites like Facebook and other image-sharing sites, reports News.com (I am still waiting for the verification e-mail from the service to try it out).

"Microsoft Towards iPhone"

It is planed by Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) to offer software for the ipone, saying in a recent interview that developers are considering a variety of possibilities that include offering Office functionality on Apple's smart phone. Microsoft's focus on the iPhone stems from Apple's release of a software development kit this month. The iPhone SDK, released in beta, gives developers access to the same tools Apple developers use for building applications that run on the iPhone's Max OS X-based operating system. In an interview with Fortune magazine, published online Tuesday, Tom Gibbons, corporate VP of Microsoft's Specialized Devices and Applications Group, said the software maker was looking closely at the SDK and considering its options.

Windows XP: gone?

You may be upset by the approaching death of Windows XP, but it shouldn't come as a surprise. Microsoft Corp.'s product life-cycle guidelines have told before the fate of XP since 2001. In fact, Microsoft has been killing off one version of a product as it is replaced with another for years now. But this time around, the approaching demise of XP is getting more attention than, say, the final passing of Windows 2000.
XP is the most widely used operating system on the planet, and its long-delayed successor, Windows Vista, is not proving to be universally popular. The companies that make up the enterprise market for Windows are dragging their feet about upgrading, and on the consumer side there are signs of a rebellion against Vista.

Ms Office 2008 For Mac: Rooting Out The Old

Microsoft clearly took this opportunity to root out crusty programming. In Excel 2008, A lot of other small annoyances seem to have disappeared, too, alongside a modest speed bump on Intel systems. The only disruptive change in 2008 is the removal of a programming language common between the Windows and Mac versions of Office: Visual Basic for Applications (VBA). Among its simpler purposes, VBA was used to write macros that could format documents automatically or insert complicated elements. The use of AppleScript as a replacement isn't a reasonable transition for power users or those who need it for cross-platform use.

According to United Press International, Brian Grayek, head of product development at Computer Associates, said Mocmex can "capture something and leave no traces."The Mocmex virus infects PCs when connected to the digital frames. It is said by the Gadgettastic.com that the virus can download files and hide these. Mocmex can also transfer to another PC or storage device when the digital photo frame is plugged to these.Grayek said the virus was made by a Chinese group, but he did not name them.
